Winter Eats Away

Lapland Bunting taking seed at the Point
Showing stripes down the back
Redstart at Sammy's Point

Migrant Hawker - this should be face upwards!

Grey Plover
Golden plover - smaller cousin, much more likely in fields

My last free day was spent at Spurn, which could count as a recce for tomorrow's class! The Lapland Bunting was the most unusual bird - coming to seed near the Green Beacon at the very point - another was found nearby on the beach. The rest of the photos speak for themselves! Most of the weekend's migrants had cleared out - the omens aren't brilliant for tomorrow - unless the weather changes!
