The light was gorgeous today, picking out the colours on the Teal and all the other wildfowl. At least 6 drake Pintail were present, and plenty of other ducks much closer to the hide than last Friday. The sun also made it easier to see the passerines than last week. The only absent bird was the Peregrine, but 2 Marsh Harriers were present early afternoon. Highlights of the afternoon included a very antagonistic and inquisitive pair of Little Grebe, not yet in breeding colours, and a Wren which almost popped into the hide. The Whooper Swans seemed to have gone, and only Mute were feeding near the farm across the road.
