On Monday the forecast wasn't especially good, so we dropped butterflies for Tophill Low in the hope of its Osprey. We made do with a very smart drake Garganey, which was close to the photography hide. A Lapwing wouldn't come as close, and a Whitethroat was seen from a hide overlooking South Marsh West.

After Hornsea I stopped off at Roos to see the Cow Parsley at its best. I photographed the Tolkien connections in the late spring sunshine.

After Tuesday's class I photographed the red campion field in better light, and then went on to Brampton. A couple of Rooks were collecting food on the cliff top for their young - you may see the enlarged crop. The Sand Martins had abandoned the cliffs directly in front of the caravan park, but I did locate a few a quarter of a mile to the north.
