Thursday's visit to the supermarket found the shelves groaning under all the extra weight of the many youngsters. The birds here seem to be doing rather well, despite the very cold temperatures, which can't be great for the insect-eating birds. Nice to find a Painted lady on 2 consecutive days, the invasion is gathering momentum, but surely will only really take place if the temperatures improve to something like normal for this time of year.
