Pigs Might Swim!

Just before half-term Stuart went on a fishing holiday on the Baltic. A nearby fisherman said, "you've got binoculars what are those 2 strange shapes in the water, they don't look like seals or birds?"  On examination they turned out to be two Wild Boars!  Not really what you expect.

Meanwhile, during the half-term break Tony Robinson went to Bempton.  He enjoyed good views of a Barn Owl hunting over rough grassland, but also located a Siberian Chiffchaff, which gave extremely close views.

Friday night & Saturday morning was extremely wet, so in the afternoon I tried out my local Barn owl patch to see if any birds were showing.  I found a pair hunting a few yards away from each other, but only managed to get photos of the female.  It looks as though she may have caught a vole, which she brought towards me, before devouring it on the drain bank opposite to my car.
