Autumn Wednesday 3 - Spurn Point

Kestrel (c) 2008 Maurice Gordon
Little Egret Stonechat
Record shot of Garden Warbler
Skylark
Record shot of Skylark
Goldfinch

The star bird today was this morning's Red-backed Shrike, which was a "lifer" for several on the course. Most of the migrants seen 2 weeks as tomorrow have passed through, but we had excellent views of male and female Stonechats during both sessions. Other birds seen included: Lesser Redpoll, Kestrels, Sanderlings, Brent Geese, Wigeon, Golden Plover, Curlew, Bar-tailed Godwit and a solitary Swallow. Anthony (am) believed he saw a Water Rail; whilst some on the pm session may have seen the Jack Snipe at the Canal Scrape.

I had a great time Michael. So glad I saw the red backed shrike. I haven't uploaded my photos yet, but have great hopes.
