Bee Orchids

One of East Yorkshire's most unusual and scarce plants is currently in bloom. It seems as if it is going to be a much better year, than the previous two rather disappointing summers for them. If you know where to look for them, now is the time - in a fortnight many of them will be past their best, especially if the weather warms up. They make an excellent subject for close-up photography, but this example is with a standard lens. Enjoy!

Lovely little goldcrest at the top of your blog Michael. I also love the little egret (and many others)
