As the self isolating cranks inexorably on, I tried sitting quite close to an upturned old dustbin lid filled with water. I was reading Aspects of the Novel by E. M. Forster, but out of the corner of my eye I could discern some visitors to the water. This is the closest I've managed to get at home to Bullfinches, Greenfinches and even Blackbirds. It's just a shame that a Goldfinch didn't arrive too, but then I have heard that they leave a little to be desired in the personal hygiene department. I have started to use the moth trap again. There are only a limited number of species at the moment, but no doubt this will increase if the weather stays fine, and as more leaves and flowers emerge. I need to check my books to identify each species. Today we saw our first Holly Blue.

Who'd have thought a magpie could demonstrate such blue reflection; brilliant to catch it. We had our first Holly Blue in the garden yesterday; good and early. Grt photos.
