Although Spurn is fantastic at the moment at high tides because of the incredibly close views of breeding-plumaged waders, there is also plenty to see away from the mudflats. I indulged in some "pishing" near the tamarisk tree at the point and four juvenile Willow Warblers immediately came towards me for a closer look. There were at least another 2 nearby. The Wheatear was also in the area, with another at Sammy's Point, Easington. The Dragonflies and butterflies were especially abundant around the Canal Zone!

High Tides at Spurn
High tides at Spurn are excellent at the moment. You can get incredibly close to Whimbrel, Knot, Bar-tailed Godwit, Grey Plover, Turnstone, Little Ringed Plover and most of the other common waders. There are also lots of juvenile Willow Warblers on passage, but haven't managed to get a decent photo of one - yet.....
