Osprey at Tophill Low

Today a Juvenile Osprey was reported at Tophill Low's north Lagoon around 10am.  I had little hope it would still be there at 2, and if it was that the hide would be packed.  I was pleasantly surprised on both counts.  It was still present for another hour, and there was just one pleasant chap in the hide with a very large lens.  We also had a male Kingfisher for a great deal of our stay.  At 3.03 it left it's DNA behind, then squatted before launching itself into the air.  Unfortunately, it didn't fly across North Lagoon, instead it flew over the hide across the road briefly, and was last seen heading south.

Late News: [Edit] I've just heard that this was a rehabilitated Osprey looked after by Jean Thorpe. It was released yesterday at Wansford Trout Farm.
