Heaviest Bird We've Ever Seen

On Wednesday we made our first visit to Potteric Carr in at least 2 years.  There had been a lot of changes.  Because of the mild weather there wasn't a great deal of unusual bird life to see.  One of the most bizarre sights was a large plane struggling to land at Robin Hood airport.  On investigation this may have been a Soviet-built Antonov 225.  It is the longest and heaviest plane ever to have been built.  We have also been informed that there is only one of these planes in existence.  In other news there were some Earthstars and collared Earthstars on the north facing edge of the reserve.
