Last week was rather unusual in that we only visited two instead of four locations all week. The Tuesday and Friday sessions travelled to RSPB Blacktoft Sands, whilst Wednesday and Thursday went to Ness End Farm. At times the lighting was atrocious, nevertheless we had some very good sightings.

The Wednesday and Thursday groups endured rather windy conditions at Ness end. There's no doubt that the highlight was Thursday afternoon's Bittern, but unfortunately, my camera didn't lock on to it before it disappeared out of sight! You can just about tell what it is.

I've never seen a grebe flying before - a first for me! Pity the youngster gave up - he was gaining on his elder!
