Typical Late Summer Migrants

In the gloom...
Although the Snow Bunting was still around I spent some time with the more typical late-summer migrants of the time of year. I do love the chat family, so include my favourite Wheatear portraits from today & a lone Whinchat on the pebbly beach on the riverside. The Pied Flycatcher sneaks in as non-family member, but it is another passerine with a large dark eye - shame they don't breed locally, or as was found with the Redstart this year, do they? The Corncrake turned up after I'd left!
