Yellow Wagtail
Meadow Pipit
Had a final go at using my car as a hide to sneak up on the Yellow Wagtails. The light was stronger this morning, but the birds seemed to be thinner on the ground, even though I set off even earlier. I did manage to sneak closer than before to a Yellow Wagtail, but it would have been a better image if it had been facing the other way, or if it had been perched where the Meadow Pipit was! There was a female Barn Owl hunting at Stone Creek itself just before 7 am, and minutes later a Hobby powered East low over the above rape field, before reaching the creek. There were a further 2 on the way to Cherry Cobb Sands. The rest of the day was spent preparing some literature for the Tophill Open Day tomorrow.
