I knew it would be difficult taking pics with a class of 12 in tow, so I turned up early. However, it's against Health & Safety regulations to do this, so I won't do it again. The venue didn't disappoint with plenty of good views of iconic species, and we had the hides to ourselves in the morning, and they were only a little busier in the afternoon. Just before the rain started a Hobby whizzed within inches of our faces as we sat in Marshland hide. There was no chance to take a photograph. A Buzzard flew over late morning, which is a species I've never seen here before. We didn't see (or hear) a Bittern, or the Montagu's Harrier, or even hear a Cuckoo, but there was still plenty to see. One of the best Tuesdays so far this term.
