Today should have been a day of raptors, and its true we saw a total of 4 Red Kites and several Buzzards, but the light was son poor that in the end the bird of the day was the skulking bird in the car park: a Water Rail. It was a cold, cloudy day in the main, but the Water Rail actually came out in the full glare of the sunshine. Still no sign of any Grey wagtails, Green Woodpeckers, or Jays, but there were still more birds than at yesterday's venue!
