Costa Rica in November

A Tuesday stalwart missed the last couple of sessions, as he was on a birdwatching holiday in Costa Rica.  I'll leave the rest to him in his own words (c) 2022 Steve Clarke:

Over the 14 days I saw 211 species of which 197 were lifers. We stayed in 3 locations, San Jose, the capital in middle of country with trips to Orosi Valley and 2700m into mountains, then to a jungle village on the Pacific side near River Tarcoles to visit two national parks, Antonio and Carara, a river trip (19 ft crocs) and Mangrove Swamp walk. Then to the central north nearer Nicaragua, another river trip Rio Frio plus visits to volcanic region Arenal including hanging bridges in rain forest (scary).  As well as birds we saw 2 and 3 toed sloths, 4 types of monkeys, several types of snake, coati, apossum and racoons plus lots of beautiful butterflies, frogs, lizards, iguana and bats.
It was all stunning. They have nearly 900 resident or migrant species in a country the size of Wales.
