Last Thursday we went to Kilnsea for the final session of the summer term. We walked from the Blue bell car park, starting with a walk along the seashore. A Whinchat was the best bird seen there. We arrived at Canal Scrape and were joined by a Green Sandpiper. Later, we saw an immature Red-Backed Shrike in the distance in the depth of a Hawthorn bush.

We then walked to the breach. Along the way we saw a Willow Warbler, and on the riverside with the high tide we saw a couple of Grey Plovers, plus plenty of Redshank and Curlews.

A few days after we had been there a Friday morning stalwart followed our trend, but spent time at Kilnsea Wetlands, which we didn't have time to visit.
