A Trip to the Dark Side

Yesterday am we popped over to West Yorkshire to check out the Black-necked Grebes. Bright weather was forecast, but it was overcast, so the photos are no great shakes. We also found James Spencer's Bean Goose, and heard the Bittern booming. On the return journey we stopped off at Saltmarsh.

I've always wanted to get a Great Crested Grebe in flight.  One flew past in the distance, and it was a very dull day, but the results aren't too bad.

At Saltmarshe the Cetti's Warbler came down for a drink for about 5 mins to the left of the hide, but frustratingly there was always a reed obscuring part of the bird. The Reed Bunting and Little Grebe were more obliging!
