Wren at home through Glass!
We didn't see a Bittern in the morning, but in the afternoon one was perched high on 3 reed stems for the whole time we were at Piper Marsh. Some of last week's fungi had gone over, but there were still plenty of species to see. Willow Pool was crawling with different species, especially in the morning. A Redpoll in the morning was a lifer for many, but the smaller birds became harder to see as the light faded. However, the growing swirling Starling flock was an exception, as was the Kingfisher, which flew out from under a footbridge on the way back to the visitor centre. More than 30 species were seen, so it was a fitting finale to the end of term.
