Following almost identical advice from Marcus & Vince my camera was placed in the airing cupboard for nearly 48 hours after its soaking on Friday morning. Yesterday, Ben, my 9-year-old nephew, found a Sparrowhawk chick sitting on the edge of its nest in our extended garden, which was very frustrating with the camera out of action. So, today I checked the camera first, which seemed to be working again & went to see if the chick was still there. Luckily, for me everything seemed to be back to normal, and the chick was still there. However, a couple of hours later, when Vince came to see it there was nothing to be seen. A parent flew out of the next-door tree, but presumably the chick was asleep in the centre of the rather sprawling nest after an early morning feed.
